Finalists

Minnesota State has named four finalists in the search for the next provost of Minnesota State University, Mankato. The candidates are Laurie Couch, Dennis Rome, Lara Luetkehans, and David Hood.

We will be hosting on-campus open forums with finalists March 21-25.

Laurie Couch

Laurie Couch has served Morehead State University as Associate Provost for Undergraduate Education & Student Success since 2016.  She holds a bachelor’s degree from Mississippi State University and master’s and doctorate from the University of Tennessee. Laurie will conduct a campus visit March 21-22.

Dennis Rome

Dennis Rome has served Northeastern Illinois University as Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs since 2019.  He holds a bachelor’s degree from Bradley University, master’s degree from Howard University, and doctorate from Washington State University.  Dennis will conduct a campus visit March 22-23.

Lara Luetkehans

Lara Luetkehans has served the Indiana University of Pennsylvania as Interim Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs since 2021.  She holds a bachelor’s degree from Loyola University Chicago, master’s from Rosary College (now Dominican University) and doctorate from the University of Georgia.  Lara will conduct a campus visit March 23-24.

David Hood

David Hood has served Montclair State University as Associate Provost for Undergraduate Education and Founding Dean, University College since 2018.  He holds a bachelor’s degree from Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University, master’s, education specialist, and doctorate degrees from Tennessee State University.  David will conduct a campus visit March 24-25.
