Faculty rank at MSU includes adjunct appointments as well as full-time appointments as fixed term, assistant, associate and full professor. Full-time faculty are evaluated and promoted based on the following criteria set by the IFO contract:
- Demonstrated ability to teach effectively and/or perform effectively in other current assignments.
- Scholarly or creative achievement or research.
- Evidence of continuing preparation and study.
- Contribution to student growth and development.
- Service to the university and community.
Graduate Faculty Status
- Graduate faculty appointments at Minnesota State University, Mankato are intended to signify active involvement in one or more graduate programs. Only faculty with Graduate faculty appointments may teach graduate courses, mentor graduate students as they develop capstone projects, direct graduate-level independent studies, and advise graduate students in developing programs of study.
