Education and Training

The Office of Equal Opportunity & Title IX routinely presents and provides training on a range of subjects related to the work of our office. Training and presentations are available for students, faculty, staff, and specialized groups. The office also facilitates the student-required Sexual Violence Prevention Training course available on D2L. Presentations or trainings can be conducted in-person or online, via Zoom.

Education: Classroom Presentations

The Office of Equal Opportunity & Title IX routinely presents on a range of subjects related to the work our office does in several different classroom contexts. Classroom presentations have included, but are not limited to, the following subjects: Office of Equal Opportunity & Title IX work as it relates to the Minnesota State system 1B.1 and 1B.3 policies; work as affirmative action officers on campus; sexual violence and Title IX; and pregnant and parenting students.

Our most frequent classroom presentation includes an overview of the Office of Equal Opportunity & Title IX and the work we do, a review of the Minnesota State system 1B.1 and 1B.3 Policies, a summary of the report/complaint process, a description of available resources, and a few brief hypothetical scenarios.


Faculty and Staff Training

The Office of Equal Opportunity & Title IX is available to conduct presentations or training for faculty and staff. Whether there is new faculty/staff that recently joined the department, or there is an opportunity for a faculty/staff refresher, our office is available and can customize the presentation/training for the particular needs of the department.

Past presentations/trainings have focused on Minnesota State system policy, 1B.1 Equal Opportunity and Nondiscrimination in Employment and Education, and Minnesota State system policy, 1B.3 Sexual Violence, our office’s role as affirmative action officers, reporting requirements as Campus Security Authorities (CSA), Title IX, and a faculty/staff role in supporting pregnant and parenting students.


Residential Life Staff Training

The Office of Equal Opportunity & Title IX routinely conducts presentations and trainings to Residential Life staff, including but not limited to, Community Advisors, Hall Directors, and Area Directors.


Student Athlete Training

Twice per academic year, the Office of Equal Opportunity & Title IX presents to student athletes regarding consent and sexual violence which includes prevention, intervention, and response. These presentations adheres to the provision of the NCAA Board of Governors Policy on Campus Sexual Violence.

Sexual Violence Prevention Training
