Employee Injury

Traumatic

  1. Dial 911 and Campus Security at 507-389-2111
  2. Supervisor fills out First Report of Injury form

More Severe

  1. Recommend employee seek medical attention/contact Security #2111
  2. Normal Hours Urgent Care:
    Monday - Friday 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.
    Saturday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
    Sunday 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. 
    HR Worker's Compenstaiton Procedures for Injury or Illness
    1. Tell the medical professional that your illness/injury may be work related
    2. Immediately report your injury to the workers’ compensation coordinator by calling 507-389-2015
    3. Supervisor fills out First Report of Injury form
  3. After Hours Emergency Room:
    Monday - Friday 8 p.m. – 8 a.m.
    Saturday 5 p.m. – 8 a.m.
    Sunday 5 p.m. – 11 a.m.

    1. Go to Mayo Health Emergency Room 1025 Marsh St. Mankato Step 

    2. Tell the medical professional that your illness/injury might be work related. 

    3. Immediately report your injury to the workers’ compensation coordinator 507-389-2015 and at HR Worker's Compenstaiton Procedures for Injury or Illness

    4. Supervisor fills out First Report of Injury form

Minor (small burn, cut, scrape, bruise etc.) 

  1. Have employee self-perform basic first aid (wash wound, apply ointment/bandage)
  2. Supervisor fills out First Report of Injury form

Student Injury (Not in Paid Status)

Traumatic Injury

  1. Dial 911 then Campus Security at 507-389-2111
  2. Call Campus Security at 507-389-2111 for a Security Officer to coordinate a time/location to fill out an Incident Report with the student present IF possible.

More Severe Injury

  1. During normal business hours, recommend student seek medical attention at Minnesota State Mankato Student Health Services
    Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
    Tuesday, Thursday: 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
  2. After MSU Health Services' hours:
    Mankato Clinic Urgency Care 1809 Adams St Mankato
    Monday - Friday 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.
    Saturday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
    Sunday 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. 
    After Urgency Care hours, (above), go to Mayo Health Emergency Room 1025 Marsh Street Mankato 
  3. Call Campus Security at 507-389-2111 for a Security Officer to coordinate a time/location to fill out an Incident Report with the student present.
