Academic Affairs Master Calendar

There are several faculty deadlines and various events/performances/exhibitions hosted within the Division of Academic Affairs. If you would like your event listed (only events hosted by colleges/units within Academic Affairs will be accepted), please submit your event to provost@mnsu.edu.


May 2023

  • 5/1: Promotion - Provost forwards a final recommendation to the President. The faculty member and the Dean receive copies of the Provost’s recommendation. Upon receipt of the Provost's recommendation the President invites the faculty member to meet to discuss the recommendations.
  • 5/1-5/5: Spring finals week
  • 5/5: PDP Fixed Term - Faculty member reviews PDR assessment and submit response to the Dean
  • 5/6:
    • Spring graduation
    • Faculty duty day
  • 5/8:
    • Faculty grading day
    • PDP First-Year Probationary - Faculty member submits Professional Development Progress Report (PDR) along with appropriate documentation to the Dean. The meeting with the Dean on the PDR will occur in the early fall
    • PDP Fixed Term - Dean sends all PDR materials to Human Resources for inclusion in the faculty member's file
  • 5/11: Spring 2023 grades are due
  • 5/15: First day of summer session I
  • 5/29: No classes

June 2023

  • 6/9: Promotion - President makes a decision on the faculty member’s promotion application. The President conveys the decision to the faculty member.
  • 6/10: Tenure - President makes a decision on the faculty member’s tenure and convey the decision to the faculty member. When tenure is denied, the written notice shall include reasons for denial.
  • 6/19: No classes
  • 6/20: First day of summer session II

July 2023 - Start of FY24

  • 7/4: No classes
  • 7/24-31: No classes
  • 7/27: Summer 2023 grades are due

August 2023

  • 8/21: PDP Continuing Probation - Faculty member submits PDR along with appropriate documentation to Dean
  • 8/25: Promotion - If not promoted, upon request, the faculty member meets with the President or designee to discuss the President’s decision. The faculty member may request, and shall be furnished, written indication of deficiencies and guidance concerning appropriate action to overcome such deficiencies.
  • 8/31: Tenure - Faculty member meets with President after tenure denial
