Notice of Non-Discrimination
Minnesota State University, Mankato is committed to developing and fostering understanding and appreciation of a free and diverse society, providing equal opportunity for all students and employees and eliminating sexual violence in all forms. It is also the responsibility of all members of the University community to create and promote a campus culture where discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and acts of sexual violence in any form are not tolerated.
As part of our commitment, Minnesota State prohibits discrimination and harassment in any education program or activity, including in admission and employment, on the basis of membership or perceived membership in any of the following protected classes: race, sex (including pregnancy, child birth, and related medical conditions), color, creed, religion, age, national origin, disability, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, veteran status, familial status, membership or activity in a local human rights commission, in genetic information for employees, or any other status protected by federal and state laws.
Federal and state laws that prohibit discrimination, harassment and/or retaliation include, but are not limited to: Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972; Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973; the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 as amended; Title VI and VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964; and the Minnesota Human Rights Act.

The Office of Equal Opportunity & Title IX (EOTIX) is responsible for coordinating compliance with the Minnesota State system and University policies and procedures, as well as federal and state laws relating to protected class status. Note: Retaliation against members of the Minnesota State community who exercise their right to report discrimination, harassment and/or sexual violence is strictly prohibited by Minnesota State system policy as well as state and federal laws. Retaliation is grounds for filing a complaint with the EOTIX office and for separate disciplinary action.
