What is Religion and Creed harassment?
Verbal or physical conduct that is directed at an individual because of that individual’s religion and/or creed, and that is sufficiently severe, pervasive, or persistent so as to have the purpose or effect of creating a hostile work or educational environment.
Examples can include:
- Consistent offensive remarks about an individual’s religious beliefs and/or practices.
- Assigning an employee to a non-customer facing position due to an actual and/or perceived customer fear because of that employee’s religion and/or creed.
- Persistent comments about a person’s grooming and/or dress related to that person’s religion and/or creed.
