All benefits-eligible State employees are covered under the State Employee Group Insurance Program (SEGIP) which includes the following categories: Health and Dental Insurance, Vision Plan, Short and Long-Term Disability Insurance, Life Insurance, and Flexible Spending Accounts.
Flexible Spending Accounts
Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs), once known as pre-tax spending accounts, offered by SEGIP can provide you with substantial tax savings by paying your health and dental plan premiums, eligible dependent care, medical, dental, and transportation expenses with pre-tax dollars.
Tuition Waiver
Minnesota State offers tuition waiver benefits to most employees, their spouses and dependents based on criteria provided in the various union contracts or salary plans.

As a benefit of your employment with the State of Minnesota and Minnesota State University, employees receive a collection of discounts from a variety of companies.
